God is Loving

God is Loving

and He reached out to us

John 3:16 is a well-known verse.

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...

In His love God has reached out to us, but even in love God cannot do anything that would violate the rest of His nature. It is through the gift of Jesus that He has provided a way for us to be close to Him that satisfies His holy, just nature.

God's Son

Who would you say Jesus is?
Jesus is God come to earth in the flesh.

[Jesus] became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
[Jesus] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

He was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life, doing good wherever he went.

God's Exchange

Jesus humbled Himself and became a man so that He could give His life in exchange for yours.

Our Substitute

He loves you and died as your substitute.

Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God
I Peter 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God...
I Peter 3:18

As the holy, just God Who came in human form, He is the only One qualified to die in your place. He took your sins on Himself when He died on the cross.

Our Righteousness

He also offers His own record to you as a perfect completion to the exchange.

For our sake he [God] made him [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus wants to give you His righteous record so you can meet God's holy standard. Only then can God give you a home with Him in heaven forever and still be just.

New Reality

This is the reality of the exchange He offers! He suffered as a lying, coveting thief in your place and offers you the ability to have a full relationship with God as your Father, accepted by Him because of Jesus' holy, just nature.

Our Full Payment

This good news gets even better.

The blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
I John 1:7
The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
I John 1:7

Ask yourself this question, "Could this mean all of my sins?" It says all! You may be thinking, "OK, but I'll have to keep myself from sinning to stay forgiven. It can't mean my future sins." Think about this – all your sins were future when Jesus died. Jesus wants to forgive all of your sins—past, present, and even future!

In fact, one of the last things Jesus said before He died was, "It is finished" (John 19:30). Since Jesus finished the work of fully paying for all of your sins, is there anything left for you to pay? No! Jesus paid the price for all your sins.

Man's Deliverance

Jesus defeated death and delivered us from sin and it's penalty when He rose from the grave. I Cor. 15:3-8 says that He was seen by over 500 eyewitnesses.
